When working with clients on creating their own signature look, I ask them questions about their personality and their clothing preferences. Are they bold and daring, elegant or refined, relaxed or energetic?
People usually have one, two or even three style personalities: The main style personalities are: Natural, Classic, Romantic, Dramatic and Creative.
A Natural personality likes a relaxed style; is usually very active and fun and finds it more difficult to dress up and to wear formal clothes.
The Classic personality is elegant, refined, conservative and reserved. They tend to value quality more than quantity, style more than fashion.
Romantic types are softer in their mannerisms, more alluring. Women prefer a flowing skirt and pretty blouse to wearing jeans. If men are romantics they tend to be more stylish.
Dramatic personalities are bold, daring and sophisticated; they love to call attention to themselves through their dress, poise and confidence.
Creative types, refuse to have a packaged look. They have an eccentric and artistic personality. They like to mix unexpected pieces and carry it all off in a spectacular manner.
Did you identify your style personality? Maybe you clearly fit into one or you may have 2 or more. Whatever your style, remember to remain within the professional boundaries of your dress code at work and find ways to express your individual style.
